In memory of
Carmen Rodarte April 21, 1926 - Oct. 11, 2016 Farmersville Carmen Rodarte was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. She and her husband, Cosme made their home in Farmersville in the 1950s with five sons and daughters; Joe, Ignacio, Margaret, David and Mary. Carmen and her husband worked together as farm laborers and raised their children to work alongside them. Carmen's family tradition was to bring the family together on Friday nights cooking delicious meals that included handmade tortillas and gorditas. Her children and grandchildren called her "Ama" and she loved them dearly. Carmen was especially happy when being entertained by her great and great-great grandchildren. She also enjoyed praying the rosary, making her special chili, crocheting for everybody she knew, tending to her vibrant flowerbeds, going to her favorite restaurants, and traveling to the Holy Land and Mexico. The family is thankful to her many friends who stopped by to visit, take her on outings or shopping for hilo. "Vaya con Dios Ama." A viewing will be held at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel Tuesday, October 18th from 5-6pm and Rosary at 6pm. Mass will be Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 at 10am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farmersville. Interment will follow at Visalia Public Cemetery.
