Carla Dianne Janssen, age 68, passed away peacefully with her husband of 40 years, Rod, by her side. She had battled and fought cancer for the last year. She was born in Aberdeen, Washington, to Carl and Betty Gitchel. She was the eldest of four daughters. At the age of 9, the family moved to Port Angeles. Her hobbies and interests included sewing, crafting, antiques and camping. She and Rod owned Country Antiques for many years. She was preceded in death by her dad, Carl, and mother, Betty. She is survived by her husband, Rod; daughters Tori Travers and Julie (Brad) Norman; sons Rodney Janssen, Jerry (Deanna) Janssen and Troy Janssen; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters Marsha (Ken) Schilke, Meredith (Dan) Dougherty and Tammy Wooldridge. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, at the cemetery on Monroe Road in Port Angeles at 1 p.m.
