Carl W. Swanson, Jr. AGE: 69 • Monmouth Junction Carl W. Swanson, Jr., 69 of Monmouth Junction passed away peacefully on January 8th at Care One in East Brunswick. Born on June 28, 1947, in New Brunswick, NJ. Carl was the son of the late Carl W. Swanson, Sr. and Edna L. (Weber) Swanson of North Brunswick. Carl graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 1969, where he was a member of ROTC, and Rutgers Law School, Newark, in 1972. He was on active duty in the army briefly at Fort Benning, GA in 1972. He joined the Middlesex County Prosecutors office in 1973 and left to go to the law firm of Benedict and Altman in the early 1980's. He worked at several law firms before returning to the Prosecutors office in 2006 where he was still employed. Carl loved his job and when people asked why he was not retired he would tell them that he loved what he was doing. When Carl wasn't working, he loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of Big "D" Valley Bassmasters Club and enjoyed fishing in tournaments. He always looked forward to going away on his yearly hunting trip with his buddies. Carl also enjoyed weekend trips to Atlantic City with his wife. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary Jane "Jane" (Borlan) Swanson, son Craig and his wife Traci of Nazareth, PA., daughter Erica and her husband Gregg Fine of Westfield, NJ., sister Marie Harrington of East Brunswick and brother Duane Swanson and his wife Anne of Lafayette, LA. Also 4 grandchildren, Lindsey, Christopher, Matthew and Eva. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Private cremation will follow. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007.
