Carl A. Fosko
Carl A. Fosko, 89, a life resident of Plains Township, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. Born Dec. 4, 1927, in Plains Township, the son of the late John Sr. and Anna Warek Fosko, he was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1945, and later Wilkes College, Class of 1952, with a degree in accounting. Carl served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. After his graduation from Wilkes, Carl worked as an IRS agent and a tax accountant in Philadelphia prior to establishing his own practice in Kingston in 1956. His hallmark was "Reliability, Stability, and Durability" over 50 years as a tax advisor and accountant in the Wilkes-Barre area. Carl was a life member of Sacred Heart Slovak Church and St. Andre Bessette Parish in Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Adella, Marie, Anna Margie, Margaret Butcofski and Helen Fosko, and brothers, John and Joseph Fosko. He is survived by his sister, Betty Dobish; brother, Albert Fosko; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Stanislaus Church, North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment with military rites will be held in Sacred Heart Slovak Cemetery, Dallas. Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Yeosock Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's name may be made to St. Andre Bessette Parish.
