Candace Rice passed away peacefully at age 68 on October 8, 2016 in Newport Beach, CA. Candace was born April 29, 1948 in Twin Falls, ID to Fabian Sebastian Kohles and Bessie Chesnut Kohles. In 1952 the family, including big sister Susan, moved to Fresno, CA. In 1960 they moved to Whittier, CA. Candace graduated from La Serna High School in Whittier, and then Cal State Fullerton. She married Bill Rice in 1970 and they raised their three daughters in Newport Beach. Candace is survived by her daughters Dannell (Craig) Stuart, Kathryn (Casey) Bernsdorf, and Victoria Rice, and her grandchildren Will, McKenna, Dylan, and Kai, along with her former husband of 40 years Bill Rice. She is also survived by her sister Susan (Tim) Flint, her nieces Dawn (Doug) Donahoo, Kim (Doug) Detwiler, and Becky Flint, and her great-nieces Ashley, Alyson and Jessica and her great-nephew Jacob. She is predeceased in death by her parents. Candace (known as Candy to many) had a successful career in shopping center development and leasing and was highly respected and admired by many friends and colleagues. Candace loved to shop, laugh, travel, go fishing and camping, watch sports, and spend time with friends, her daughters and grandchildren. She was known for her warm heart, her incredible generosity, her dedicated faith, her bright mind, her amazing beauty, and her loving kindness. She was optimistic, fun, thoughtful, charming, and always made people feel special. She opened her heart and her home to everyone. Her girls were her pride and joy.
