CALVIN PERRY Calvin Willis Perry passed away Dec. 22, 2016, in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Kansas. Calvin joined the U.S. Army Reserves and then the U.S. Army, served in Vietnam, retired with an honorable discharge from the military and moved to Las Vegas. Calvin retired from the Army as a command sergeant major (CSM), the highest enlisted rank in the service. He received numerous awards while in the Army. After retiring from the Army, Calvin worked at the Golden Nugget, in Las Vegas, and retired from there. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Perry; father, Calvin Willis Perry; and sisters, Patricia Lee Reece and Shirley Ann Thompson. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Dennis Thompson, Akilah Bolden-Monifa (nee Elizabeth Ann Thompson), Colleen Gray, Shawna Bell, Ryan Reece, Shionta Gray, Will Gray and LaShawna Trevino; and his Godson, David Kronman, who was his primary caretaker the last seven years of his life. Per Calvin's request, no services are scheduled. Burial is pending at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, in Boulder City, Nevada.
