Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Buford Benoit, 91, who died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 4:08 a.m. in Crowley. Mr. Benoit was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He retired from Transco Pipeline now known as Williams after 29 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather. Rev. Truman Stagg will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Mr. Benoit is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vivian Perry Benoit of Crowley; two daughters, Phyllis Thevis and husband Raymond of Crowley, Janet Benoit of Crowley; one sister, Jeanette Dennies of Metairie; four brothers, Luther Benoit of Ebenezer, Charles Sarver of Kinder, Hollins Sarver of Eunice and Woodrow Sarver of Crowley; five grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Hebert; his parents Stanville and Amelia Smith Benoit; two sisters, Joyce Sarver and Willa Mae Stanich; one brother, Ebert Benoit.
