Bruce P. Young Born: December 1, 1929; in Bethlehem, PA Died: October 11, 2016; in Barrington, IL Bruce P. Young, 86, of Richmond, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 while in the company of family members, at JourneyCare in Barrington, IL. He was born in Bethlehem, PA on December 1, 1929, a son of the late Robert and Ann Zella (Jorden) Young. He was married to Patricia Brown on June 5, 1954, in Easton, PA. Bruce was a certified master gardener, loved charades, crossword puzzles, classical music and sang in the Bach choir. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodstock. A graduate of Union Seminary in New York, NY, he served as a Presbyterian minister in Buffalo, NY for over 20 years. He enjoyed furniture refinishing for 20 years following his time as a minister. He was a community activist for over 20 years, being passionate about civil and human rights for all. Bruce is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Becky (Ben) Hornsby, of Nashville, TN; three sons, Stewart (Denise) Young, of Cary, IL; Peter (Wendy) Young, of West Chester, PA; Thomas (Lolita) Young, of Winnetka, IL; 10 grandchildren and three brothers, Robert, Donald and Peter Young. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home 10011 Main St Richmond, until the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
