BRUCE E. BROWN "He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly" Acts 10:2 NIV Mr. Bruce Eric Brown of Petersburg, Va., departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Southside Regional Medical Center. Bruce was born on September 22, 1962, in Richmond, Va., and was the eldest of five children born to Ann and Albert Morgan. Bruce was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Petersburg, Va. He received his formal education from the Petersburg Public School System and graduated from Petersburg High School as part of the Class of 1981. Upon graduating from high school, Bruce joined the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country and furthered his education. Prior to his death, Bruce dedicated much of time to volunteering at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Community Life Center. Bruce was a very kind-hearted, loving person and had a genuine love for the Lord, his friends his family and especially his son Kris. Bruce enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, cooking on a regular basis. He was known for his selfless nature, as he was more than willing to offer a meal to anyone that he came in contact with. Bruce leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kris E. Brown of Palm Bay, FL; his devoted parents, Albert and Ann Morgan of Petersburg, VA; siblings, George Brown of Philadelphia, PA, Angela Parham (Terry) of Disputanta, VA, Albert Brown (Andrea) of Chester, VA, Virginia and Trisha Brown of Petersburg, VA; a grandson, Tyrese Brown of Petersburg, VA; nieces, Desiree Wheaton (Arthur), Dr. Brittany Patterson (Anthony) and Candice Brown; nephews, Michael Branch, Demetri Brown and Terry Parham, Jr.; and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, great-nieces, cousins and friends, including his devoted friend, Emeline Pride. Services for Mr. Bruce E. Brown will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., Pastor, eulogist. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. A wake service will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the funeral establishment. The family will assemble 11 a.m. the day of the service and receive friends at 630 Flank Road, Petersburg, Va.
