Brian David Jolivette LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Brian David Jolivette, 42, who died on Monday, October 17, 2016 after a lengthy illness at his residence in Lafayette. Father Gregory Chauvin, Pastor of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. The Lector will be Lauren Michelle Jolivette Thomas, Brian's Godchild. Gift Bearers will be Mitra Melancon Trahan and Ashley Dupuy Myers. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Evangeline "Vangie" Diaz Jolivette; one sister, Kelley Jolivette-Thomas and her husband, Michael Thomas; his Godchild/Niece, Lauren Thomas; his grandmother, Elnora Sonnier Jolivette; his uncles Dr. Milton Jolivette, Jr. and his wife, Maudeline; his aunt, Gwen Alexis Richard, and her husband Kent Richard, Claire Battiste and Sr. Ann Elise Sonnier; and his cousins, Michelle, Missie, Neal, Nik, Brandon and host of other relatives friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Rogers Jolivette; paternal grandfather, Milton Jolivette, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Eloise Clavo and Louis Alexis, Sr.; and his uncle and Godfather, Douglas Jolivette. Brian David Jolivette was born in Houston, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Teurlings Catholic High School in 1994 and attended ULL. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed. Brian was a loving son, brother, Godfather, grandson, nephew and friend to all who knew him. A Rosary, led by Sr. Ann Elise Sonnier, will be recited on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 12:30 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location. The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 10:00 AM until service time. Brian's "Celebration of Life" will be held following the Funeral Mass. Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Jolivette's name to Miles Perret Cancer Services (MPCS), 2130 Kaliste Saloom Rd.
