Bobby D. Cannon, 82, of Tyler, died October 17, 2016, at Hospice Homeplace. Bobby was born September 26, 1934, in Rockwall County to W. D. And Mary Trent Cannon. He attended Forest Avenue High School, Westmont College and North Texas State University. He was a golf instructor/assistant pro at Tenison Golf Course, Athens Country Club, Hide Away Lake and most recently at Willowbrook Country Club. Bobby was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joan Disman. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sara Maples Cannon, extended family and his beloved dogs. Friends are invited to visitation at Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home on October 19th, 5:00-6:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 20 at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas, at 10:30 a.m. Also on October 20, a memorial service will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church, Tyler, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Scott Mackey will officiate at services.
