Billy Howard Whisenant, 77, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville. He was born August 5, 1939, to Dennis and Ludie Mae Leatherwood Whisenant. He was a member of East Booneville Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge # 305 in Booneville, and served with the Mississippi Army National Guard for 8 years. He retired from the Mississippi Highway Patrol after 17 years of service. He served as an Alderman for the City of Booneville, and was instrumental in the development and building of Kid's Town. He enjoyed fishing, and was a car enthusiast. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 P.M Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Howell officiating and Ronnie Whisenant delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Moore Whisenant; two daughters, DeAnna (Bob) Arnold and Elisha (Steve) Lindsey; two sons, Craig (Lisa) Koon and Clay (Shiloh) Koon; one brother, Buddy (Charlene) Whisenant; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Josh, Monica, Erika, Molly, Cory and Blaze; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
