In memory of
Billie L. Drollinger, 87, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 4:43 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the West Point Care Center. He was born on May 10, 1929 in Fort Madison, IA to Pearl B. & Maude E. Harris Drollinger. He married Esther L. Dalrymple on March 5, 1950 in Fort Madison, IA. He worked at the Montrose Elevator, farmed and retired from Lee County Secondary Roads as a maintainer operator after 27 Â½ years of service. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Iowa Harness Horse Association. He was a 4th generation harness racer, enjoyed blading the county roads and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Billie is survived by: his wife: Esther Drollinger of Fort Madison, IA; 2-daughters: Linda (Mark) Conlee of Montrose, IA & Brenda (Mark) Marsden of Dallas City, IL; 2-sons: Robert (Jeanne) Drollinger of Denmark, IA & Thomas Drollinger of Fort Madison, IA; 8-grandchildren: Leith & Arpi Drollinger, Brady & Stephanie Drollinger, Tara & Mark Allard, Trent & Dani Drollinger, Jessica Huey, Cassie Huey, Ross & Kim Menke, Jill & Matt Wendland; 15-great grandchildren and 1-sister: Donna Bender of Fort Madison, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1-sister: Laura Stewart.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. all on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Bill Willis officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Montrose Fire & Rescue.
