Rev. Bill Sims
Rev. Bill Sims, 87, of Benton, passed peacefully into his eternal home Sept. 14, 2016. Rev. Sims was born Sept. 10, 192,9 in Guy to F.C. and Beatrice Sims of Greenbrier. He was married to his best friend, Maxine Hawk Sims, for more than 56 years. Rev. Sims attained his doctorate from Central Christian University and faithfully served the Lord as an ordained Assembly of God minister for more than 50 years. He served his country and was a U.S. Army veteran. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine Sims; his parents; and a brother, B.D. Sims of Earle. Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Jamie E. Burton (Joseph), of Benton; agranddaughter, Jaden, of Benton; a sister, Carlene Hall, of Greenbrier; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at St. John's Chapel by the Creek in Benton, followed by a memorial celebration at 4 p.m. Dr. Ted Edmondson will conduct the service. A private interment service was held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway. Arrangements are entrusted to Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton 501-315-4047.
