Betty Bondurant Triplett Knoxville, TN Betty Bondurant Triplett, 98, died February 13, 2017. A native of Knoxville, she was the daughter of James Sylvan Bondurant and Elsie Mae Morgan. She was predeceased in death by her parents; sister, Elsie Mae (Sunny) Graves; her husband, Dr. Marquis Jackson Triplett and son, James Marquis Triplett. She is survived by her son, Rufus Morgan Triplett (Jane E. Hardwick-Triplett); her grandchildren, Noel Elizabeth Triplett, Mark Triplett, David Triplett, John Triplett; and eight great-grandchildren. Betty attended the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Kappa Delta. She devoted her life to the ministry of her husband. They served in United Methodist Churches in both the Holston and Tennessee conferences from 1935 to 1973. Following Marquis' death she pursued work at the Cleveland Daily Banner for Lee Walls Jr, Merchants Bank in the newcomer area, and First-Century United Methodist Church in the membership cultivation area. Through these years she taught Sunday school, was involved with the Road to Emmaus, choir, and other church outreach programs. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Cleveland's Woman's Club, and the Cleveland Music Club. She was one of the longest tenured members of the DAR in Tennessee. She always enjoyed travel with friends and family. A celebration of life service will be held at Broad Street United Methodist Church, Cleveland, TN on February 16 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends during the two hours prior to the service. Burial will be Saturday, February 18 at 12:30 at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville.
