She was born April 12, 1925 at her home on 24th Street in Manitowoc. Betty grew up in Manitowoc, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. She attended Holy Family Nursing School. On June 25, 1946 she married Paul M. Tikalsky, Sr. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was the love of her life throughout their storybook marriage of almost 70 years. They were blessed with two children that survived infancy, Katherine Ann Ahrens and Paul M. Tikalsky, Jr. She was a wonderful mother whose life was devoted to her family. After their conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty and Paul and their children were sealed for all time and eternity in the Church's Washington, D.C. Temple on February 25, 1977. Betty provided a beautiful loving home for the family through their many moves to support her husband's career. From WI, IL, MI, WY, UT, and Guam she created a place of peace and beauty. She worked in the retail business in various different capacities. She was an accomplished artist and received accolades in her community as well as among her family and friends. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds using her skills to bless the lives of others. When she and Paul retired to Manitowoc, they enjoyed being "home" after a 40 year absence. Getting together with members of her high school graduating class, being a "greeter" at the Car Ferry and painting scenes of the lake shore and Manitowoc lighthouse gave her great pleasure. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Flora (Klingbiel) Rudolph, her husband Paul M. Tikalsky, Sr. and infant daughter Lynn Marie.
