BETTY G. ROSENBERG
BETTY G. ROSENBERG Betty Goldman Rosenberg, former longtime resident of Washington D.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Alamosa, Colorado. Betty was born to Jacob and Frances Goldman in New York, NY on July 4, 1918. She married Mason Baer in 1943, and spent her early adult years raising their three children John, Elizabeth, and Katherine in Woodbridge, CT. She later remarried Colonel Seymour (Tom) J. Rosenberg, M.D. and moved to the Washington D.C. area where she lived for 35 years. She was active as a volunteer at Planned Parenthood and The Textile Museum and was an avid tennis player, knitter, and world traveler. At age 85, she bravely left the east coast and moved to Colorado to be close to children and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children, John Baer of New York, NY, Elizabeth Baer of Albuquerque, NM, and Katherine Baer of Alamosa, CO, as well as Jay Rosenberg, M.D. of San Diego, CA, and Judith (Kitty) Yeoman of Buford, GA, several grandchildren and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Albert and Robert Goldman, and her loving husband Tom. Cremation was chosen and handled by Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa, CO. Memorial services will be held in Washington D.C. at a future date. Donations in her memory can be made to Planned Parenthood of America or The Textile Museum in Washington D.C.
