October 17,1936 - March 10, 2017 Betty Ruth Lee Hottenstein, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on March 10,2017. She was the daughter of Estell and Julia Lee of Hawkinsville, GA. Betty graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1954. She then went on to Jacksonville School of Dentistry where she was educated as a dental hygenist. After raising her family she worked for 20 years for the Dental School at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After retiring from UAB, she served on the staff at Bluff Park United Methodist Church as the Director of Senior Ministries for 18 years. She had a life long love of music and played several instruments including the piano and banjo. A beloved mother and grandmother, she is survived by three daughters; Beth Kiel (Dale), Suzy Cook (Andy), and Kim Stanton (David), She is also survived by two brothers; Calvin Lee (Martha) and Robert Lee as well as six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on March 18, 2017 at Bluff Park United Methodist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Bluff Park United Methodist Church or the Shepherd's Center. ... Show More
