Mrs. Betty Foster was born on January 5, 1942, in Lacour, La to the union of Bertha Sterling and Henry Kirkland Sr. Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Gethsemane Baptist Church by the late Rev. Anderson. She was blessed to have one son; Dalton Johnson. She later married the love of her life Jerry D. Foster in 1975. She was a faithful member of Greater St. James Baptist Church. She was a homemaker for over 40 years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, playing spades and going fishing. Her life was filled with joy and happiness all the time. Whenever you saw her she always had a big smile on her face. She was known all over for her famous "Dixie Cups". She leaves to cherish her memories and love, Husband; Jerry D. Foster, one son; Dalton Johnson. One brother; Henry Kirkland Jr.; one brother-in-law; Robert Warner; two sisters; Sara (Leo) Dupar and Audrey Franklin. Seven grandchildren; Chiquita Harris (Brian) Jackson, D'Ashley Collins, Dexter and Kiara Guillard, Travone Eames, Darron Graham, Kia Pierson, great grandson; Demond Guillard and one god-child; Jennifer Levy. An adopted granddaughter Danielle Byrd and a very special friend Susan Ramsey. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; Bertha Sterling and Henry Kirkland Sr., four brothers; Kendall and Roland Kirkland, John Handy Sr. and Michael Gage, four sisters; Estelle LaCox, Harriet Scott, Louisa Marshall and Mary Ann Warner. Three nieces and nine nephews. Viewing Saturday, October 15, 2016 8am Until Religious Services for10am at Greater St. James Baptist Church, 1919 Arizona St., Rev. Rolon Glover Officiating.
