In Loving Memory Salt Lake City, UT-Betty Hofmann Eatchel, born October 25, 1930, died February 6, 2017. As the 9th of 12 children, she is survived by 1 sibling and 2 sisters-in-law - Ronald and Patricia Hofmann, and Lou Hofmann. A graduate from South High in 1949, she married Bud Thomas Eatchel on March 20, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her children include: Thomas (Diane Anderton), Daniel (Lora Stokes), Andrew, Kathryn (Dean Warkentin), Calvin, and Kenneth (Anne Benzon). Though her main focus was raising her children, she worked in clerical positions around the Salt Lake Valley. Her life was devoted to helping hundreds of children reach their full potential through more than 50 years of service in cub scouting and decades of teaching Primary. She earned numerous awards in scouting including the Silver Beaver and was recognized as an Influential Women in Scouting. Other community and church service included PTA president, community council board member, choir director and wellness instructor at the Salt Lake County Senior Center, a stake mission, and a host of other volunteer activities. Betty has touched the lives of countless numbers of God's children and will be especially remembered for her nurturing of 25 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S., Salt Lake City, UT from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 and on February 14, 2017 from 8:30 to 9:30 am, prior to the funeral at 10:00 am at the LDS Whittier Ward, 1515 S. 200 E., Salt Lake City, UT. ...
