Smith Bettiejane Lillian Reuter Smith, Homemaker. Born June 23, 1919, died peacefully in her sleep, October 14, 2016 after a blessed and happy life. A lifelong resident of Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of Leo Valentine and Anita Campbell Reuter. She was a 1938 graduate of Bexley High School. On November 15, 1938 she eloped with Lot L Smith (died April 11, 2002.) They were married for 63 years. She spent her life in service to Jesus Christ, as a wife, mother, (and grandmother of eight, great grandmother of 21, great great grandmother of one), Sunday School teacher, singing alto in the choir, visiting the sick, the aged, and many other activities. She had a kind and compassionate heart. She loved to drive and was always ready for a road trip to visit distant relatives or just sightsee with friends. She and her cookies will be missed by her four daughters, Margaret (John) Nicholson, Columbus, OH, Jane (Charles) Dellenbaugh, Groveport, OH, Helen (Dwight) Doerring, Bexley, OH, and Ada (J.D.) Greer, San Antonio, TX; and special friend, Pastor Ed Jackson. Her greatest talent was loving her family unconditionally. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, 8950 Refugee Rd, Pickerington, Ohio, 43147. Visitation one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service. Pastor Robert Heinlein officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
