Funeral Services for Bernard Dale Boxberger age 77 of Tyler will be 2pm Monday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Rev Mark Braaton officiating. Mr. Boxberger was born on May 13, 1939 in Hays, KS to J Samuel and Othelia Koons Boxberger and passed away on October 13, 2016 in Tyler. Mr. Boxberger served in the Air Force Retiring as Sr. Msgt after 23 years of service, was a Flight safety instructor for Flight Safety International in Wichita, KS for 14 years, also he was an aircraft instructor for Jim Lovell the Astronaut for 6 weeks. In the late 1980's he was a pilot for Sen Bob Dole, He flew C130 Transport in and out of Tachikawa A F Base from 1963 to 1965, Flying in Supplies and flying out wounded soldiers. His fondest memory was on August 4 1962 when it was a 112 deg in Wichita, KS he married the love of his life at 11am Mass. Survivors include his wife of 54years, Liz Boxberger of Tyler, Daughters: Deborah Anderson and Husband Stephen of Roanoke, and Diane Golden of Colorado, 5 Grandchildren, Sister: Judy Bunker of Valdosta, GA, 5 Nieces & Nephews.
