Benjamin Perrine Ransom 1923 - 2016 HOLLAND PATENT- Memorial services for Benjamin Perrine Ransom will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, at the First Presbyterian Church of Holland Patent, with reception to follow. Born in Cranbury, NJ, in 1923, to Spencer and Minnie Perrine, Ben was the 5th of six children. Ben was adopted by his aunt and uncle in Brooklyn, NY. Ben joined the NAVY as a technician on a minesweeper in WW II, serving in the Invasion of Normandy and the Pacific. Ben graduated from RPI and was employed at General Electric in Syracuse. He married Shirley Kidder in 1956 and they adopted two children, Tim and Cathleen. At the US Air Force in Rome, NY, Ben designed telephone and security systems. He was a life long leader in the Explorer Post and the Boy Scouts, an active tree farmer, and avid snow skier. Friends wishing to remember Ben with a gift may do so with a donation to BSA Troop 55.
