Barbara A. McGrath AGE: 87 • Toms River Barbara A. McGrath, 87, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on February 12, 2017 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in Newton, NJ. She was born in Kearny, NJ, grew up in Harrison, NJ, and then resided in Berkeley Heights, NJ for 30 years before retiring to Toms River, NJ and Boynton Beach, FL. She was a Regional Sales Manager for Sarah Coventry for 20 years where she was extremely successful and won countless national sales awards. Barbara's hobbies included painting, golf, floral arranging, dancing, international travel (including Europe, the Caribbean, and South America), and weekly card games with "the girls." She was predeceased by her beloved husband and jitterbug partner of 60 years, Joseph; her parents, Alex and Eva Slipchuk; and brother, Alec, and 2 sisters, Ann Marcy and Olga Miller. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her three sons and their families: Joseph and Lisa of Haverford, PA, Charles and Isabel of Oak Hill, VA, Thomas and Holly of Sparta, NJ and seven grandchildren: Caitlin, Ryan and Brendan; Jennifer, Alissa and Caroline; and Kyle; and 2 great-grandchildren: Jack and Julianne. Barbara is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Victor Michaels and his wife Libby who took especially good care of her while she was in FL. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday, April 8 at 11:30 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Rectory, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ.
