Barbara A. Kozielec
Barbara A. "Bub" Kozielec, 93, of Pleasant Unity, was lifted by the loving arms of the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, from her home with her family at her side. She was born March 23, 1923, in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Paul and Matilda (Galetich) Spraic. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney, the Croatian Fraternal Union and SNPJ No. 223 in Greensburg. A devoted caring wife, mother and grandmother, Bub loved her family and took care of everyone. Anyone who met Bub knew she enjoyed cooking meals and she would pray for them until God heard her loving voice. Everyone who knew Bub would tell you she was "the sweetest thing". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley F. Kozielec. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Laskoski and husband, Wally, of Bolivar, and Lorraine Bossart and husband, Mark, of Pleasant Unity; three grandchildren, Katie Butler and husband, Joseph, of Boston, Mass., Christopher Bossart, of Greensburg, and Brian Bossart and his fiancee, Maite Schloesser, of Columbus, Ohio; a great-grandson, Mitchell John Palmer; two step-grandchildren, Matthew Laskoski and his girlfriend, Alison, of Bolivar, and Marsha Shank and husband, Fred, of Ligonier; four step-great-grandchildren, Roy, Tyler, Brennan and Tiarra; a step-great-great-granddaughter, Riley; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, Whitney, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
