MERIDEN - Barbara L. Graf, 76, wife of the late Karl Graf passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. On this Valentine's Day, she was reunited again with the love of her life, Karl. She was born in Queens Village, N.Y. on May 11, 1940, to the late Jack and Mary Margaret (MacNeil) Oberle. Barbara had worked for Bristol Myers, Aetna and retired from The Hartford as an administrative assistant. She was a parishioner of St. Rose Church, a member of the Connecticut Council of Catholic Women and the Gold Star Wives. Other than spending time with her family, Barbara's love was to travel. Germany had a special place in her heart as her husband Karl was born in Nuremberg. She will always be an inspiration of strength to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She is survived by four children, Diane Graf, of Colorado, Laura Graf and her husband, Kerry Lee, of Scotland, Eric Graf, of Meriden; and three cherished grandchildren, Abbigale, Adelle, and Jacob, children of Carla(Graf) Sylvester and Keith Sylvester, of East Hampton. She also leaves a devoted sister, Ann McLaughlin, of New York; and a brother, Jack and his wife, Claire Oberle, of Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Hedberg. Barbara's funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Hubbard Chapel at Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Road, Meriden. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
