Bunny was born July 4, 1955 in Ossining, NY, to Alfred and Mary (Della Donna) Corti. A 1973 graduate of Ossining High School, she graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a BA in literature. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in psychology from Long Island University. She was a 30 year employee of IBM Corp, working her last years - until her job was sent to Malaysia - as a human resources professional. She was an exceptional worker who took her responsibilities very seriously. Bunny was also a writer, and she had a particular love for science, science fiction and horror stories. She was very interested in history, especially local history. Her last written work was a script for a horror film she titled The Zombies of Sleepy Hollow. She also was particularly interested in World War II history and her father's service during the same. Her research into the sinking of her father's transport ship on Christmas Eve, 1944 helped form the basis of a book and movie about this. Bunny also did animal rescue, with particular interest in Basset Hounds and cats. She was active with The Cat Squad in Briarcliff Manor, dealing with feral cats. She enjoyed nature and loved the Hudson River waterfront, where she often walked her dogs over the past decades. Bunny married her long-time sweetheart Donald DeBerardinis on October 6, 1990 after being together for almost 18 years. They had no children and instead took care of each other and as many people and animals as they could. Bunny is survived by her husband Don, her dear mother-in-law Barbara DeBerardinis, her sisters-in-law Debra DeBerardinis and Joni Ryan, her brothers-in-law Joseph (Laurie), David (Krystina) and Matthew DeBerardinis, her nieces Jennifer Debar Smith (Josh) (with whom she had a special relationship, and her children Yasmine, Italia and Joselyn), and Jessi Ryan, her nephews David and James and niece Heather all on her husband's side. She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn Pointer of Schoharie, brother Richard Corti (Robin Hunting) of Pawling, nieces Stephanie Pointer Brunetta (Scott Brady) of Oneonta; Carrie Alyse Corti Hunt (Ed) of New Paltz; nephews W. Andrew Andy (Christine) Pointer of Ossining; Joseph Corti of Pawling; and great niece, Caitlin Pointer and great nephew, Peter Brunetta. All will miss her loving, gentle soul and regret that she will miss her favorite holiday this October 31.
