In memory of
Barbara Lynn Darin
DARIN BARBARA LYNN was born to Thomas Noel Lynn Sr. and Mary Lee Lynn (Arrington) in 1931 in Washington, D.C. She grew up in Falls Church Virgina, and was among the first class of women to attend the University of Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Science. While a student there she met her future husband Frank Darin, marrying in 1957. Barbara Darin was a philanthropist who dedicated her time, energy and skill to enhancing the welfare of individuals through her extensive community service, board memberships, and political efforts. Far too many to list, a small sampling of key roles and accomplishments include Board of Director for League of Women Voters, twelve years on the Republican State Central Committee, including as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee, as a member of Henry Ford Health System Quality Board, and various committees at Henry Ford College. The Darin's greatest satisfaction came from giving a major gift establishing the Frank and Barbara Darin Chair in Cardiology for Henry Ford Health System, supporting significantly enhanced research and development. Barb is survived by her sister Nancy Lee Puffenbarger of Tucson, Arizona, daughters Lynn A. Darin from Clearwater Florida, Pamela L Darin-Pierce (Bruce) from Farmington Hills Michigan, and their children Haley (20), Hannah (18), and Darin (17). She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Noel Lynn Sr., Mary Lee Lynn (nee Arrington), her brother Thomas Noel Lynn Jr., and husband of 42 years Frank VJ Darin.
