In memory of
Barbara Jean Curry
DENISON - Barbara Jean Curry, 84, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at her home in Denison. Mrs. Curry, the daughter of Julius and Edna Mae (Row) Lawless, was born July 9, 1932 in Midland, Texas. Barbara met and married Alan M. Curry on November 17, 1950. She attended college at San Marcos State College and North Texas State College, where she majored in music. Barbara had many hobbies and talents. She taught piano and played the organ and piano for Parkside Baptist Church. She also liked to crochet, do photography, go camping, care for her plants, and cook. Barbara was a member of the Denison Service League and Guild of Piano Teachers Hall of Fame. She had a loving heart and was a cheerleader for whatever her three children were doing. The great joys of her life were her family and her faith in Jesus Christ; she accepted Him as her Lord and Savior at the age of 21. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and daughter, caring for her mother for many years. Barbara will always be remembered for her kind, loving nature and deep compassion for others. Mrs. Curry leaves behind her beloved family: husband of 66 years, Alan Curry of Denison, TX; sons, Lanny Curry and wife, Lynda of Garland, TX; and Monty Curry and wife, Kathy of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Terry Goodin and husband, Garry of Macon, GA. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jennifer Howard, and husband, Joshua; David Goodin; Krista Singleton and husband, Blake; Kelsey Curry; Matthew Curry; and Michelle Goodin; and one great grandchild, Delancey Howard.
