Barbara 'Bobbie' Bogard 'A steadfast Christian, loving mother, and loyal friend' Barbara "Bobbie" Elizabeth (Hammer) Bogard, 92, was born on Oct. 5, 1924, in Linden, N.J., to the late Elizabeth (Grieshaber) and Frank Hammer. She passed away peacefully on Oct. 9, 2016. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Eddie Rice Bogard Jr.; daughter, Abigail Rice Bogard, and brothers, Frank Hammer and John Hammer. She leaves behind to treasure her memory, daughters, Barbara "Bobbee" Gilpin, and Robin (Frank) Mower; grandson, Jeffrey Gilpin; great-grandson, Riley Gilpin; niece, Elizabeth "Liz" (Yoshi) Munemura; nephew, Frank (Beth Ann) Hammer, and companion, George Geisinger. Barbara graduated Linden High School in 1942 and attended business college. She was employed in the office of Lawrence Engineering and Regina before her marriage. She worked many years with her husband in his photography studio and was the executive officer of the Greater Eastern Union County Board of Realtors. Barbara was a steadfast Christian, loving mother, and loyal friend. Prior to her marriage, Barbara was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Linden, then joined Third-Westminster Church in Elizabeth, N.J. Upon moving down the shore in 2010, she joined Brick Presbyterian Church. Barbara was a 50-plus year member of Emmaus Chapter No. 183, Order of the Eastern Star. She was involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Union County, and many clubs and activities at Leisure Village East. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial service on Oct. 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Brick Presbyterian Church, 111 Drum Point Rd., Brick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Brick Presbyterian Church, 111 Drum Point Rd. Brick 08723, would be appreciated.
