Arthur Farnum Braman, 95, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord. He was the son of the late Ernest P. and Anna (Farnum) Braman, and was born in Providence, R.I. on Jan. 18, 1921. Art served in the Army of the United States from June 1942 through January 1946. He was employed by the Narragansett Electric Company in Providence, R.I. and the New England Power Service Company in Westborough, Mass. until his retirement in 1983. He felt a strong commitment to serving the community and was awarded the Northborough, Mass. Citizen of the Year Award twice for his work with the Northborough Visiting Nurse Association, now called the Northborough Helping Hands Association. Art also, was a past member of Edgewood Congregational Church in Cranston, R.I. and Trinity Church in Northborough, Mass. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Braman, in 1975 and his sister, Caroline Knowlton. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Lois Bradley and husband, Jeff of Meredith and Susan Hopper and husband, Al of Ranger, Ga. Art also leaves behind three grandsons, John Bradley, Steven Bradley and Benjamin Hopper; and a great-grandson, Declan Bradley; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant St., Concord, with a reception following the service.
