BEWLEY, Arthur Norman Arthur Norman Bewley, age 84, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home in Mesquite, TX. Mr. Bewley was born February 25, 1932 in Bivins, TX, Cass County. He was a graduate of James Bowie High School in Simms, TX, an Army veteran, and he established a successful fabrication business. Having learned to weld during high school and after running a welding shop while in the Army, he went on to work several years in metal fabrication before opening his own business, A.N. Bewley Fabricators. It was here where he spent the remainder of his life perfecting his wood burning barbecue pits which can be found across the United States and in several foreign countries. Norman was proceeded in death by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Jane (Blackmon) (Frisbee, adopted name) Bewley; a daughter Stella Robbin Strunk; his parents Archie and Genevieve (Hogg) Bewley; stepmother Elsie (Nix) Bewley; brother Wesley Leon Bewley; sisters Josie Kathleen Canant and Nannie Teresa Miller. He is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and Larry Lewis of Scurry, TX and Dana Bewley-Brooks of Mesquite, TX; a sister, Judy Martin of Hooks, TX; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margie and Jim Young of Dallas, TX; a brother-in-law, Leonard Miller of Corsicana, TX; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He loved fishing, horses, boxing and his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to 1 boy and 10 girls. Services will be held on Saturday, February 18,m 2017. Visitation (11 am to 1 pm) and funeral service (1 pm to 2 pm) will be held in the chapel at Anderson-Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy., Mesquite, TX 75149. Burial (3 pm) immediately following at Grove Hill Cemetery, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228.
