Arline (Colbert) Bomely, 87, of Windsor Locks, loving wife of 59 years to the late Roland Bomely, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, in the comfort of her home. Arline was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Henry and Hazel (Larkin) Colbert. Arline was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. Mrs. Bomely retired in 1991 from the Windsor Locks public school system after 21 years of teaching. She was a longtime member of First Church in Windsor, UCC. Arline is survived by two children, Janice Stack and her husband, Edward, of Ledyard, and Gary Bomely and his wife, Terry, of Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Martha Bomely, of North Carolina; her six beloved grandchildren, Gretchen Calder and husband, Chris, of North Carolina, Christopher Stack and wife, Colleen, of Illinois, Andrew Bomely and wife, Brittany, of North Carolina, Heidi Lankau and husband, John, of Virginia, Michael Bomely and wife, Kirstin, of Texas, and Kevin Bomely, of Georgia. Arline was also the loving great-grandmother of nine, Evan, Natasha, and Alyssa Calder, Ella Stack, Parker Bomely, Kierstyn and Kailin Bomely, Lila Taormina, and Nicholas Sostenes; a sister, Marion Kulik, of Longmeadow, Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Fran Bomely, of Newington; a brother-in-law, Robert and his wife, Rose, of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Roland, she was also predeceased by her son, the Rev. Paul H. Bomely. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours Sunday, Jan. 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service in celebration of Arline's life will be held on Monday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Arline will be laid to rest beside Roland in Woodlawn Cemetery in Suffield. "Mil" (Cote) Henry, 91, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side. After only three short months apart, she will once again be joined with her husband of 69 years, Robert L. Henry Sr. Mildred was born March 29, 1925, in Enfield, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Dunne) Cote. She was employed by the United States Government followed by a 14-year career as secretary at Kaman Aerospace of Bloomfield from which she retired along with her husband, Bob, in 1984. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church. Mildred lived her life fully, always content with the simpler things in life. She had a great sense of humor and never wanted to miss out on a good party. Mildred was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's basketball team. She was a superb baker and enjoyed cooking for her family. "She was the best cook in Enfield,' as her husband would say. Mildred is survived by five children, Linda Scagni and husband, Robert, of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Larry Henry and wife, Candie, of Murrysville, Pennsylvania, Robert Henry Jr. of Enfield, Colleen Maniscalco and husband, Mark, of Somers, and Terry Schermerhorn and husband, Steve, of Enfield; her four grandchildren, Crystal Henry, Lauren Banas and husband, Joslyn, Eric Perron, Michael Henry and wife, Keri; five great-grandchildren, Luke, Paul, and John Banas, Willow and Theo Henry. Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Robert L. Henry Sr.; three brothers, Harold, Matthew, and Arthur Cote Jr.; her sister, Eileen (Cote) Stroiney; and a daughter-in-law, Charlene Henry. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield.
