January 30, 2017 Antonio Gilberto Collazo, 77, CMSergeant USAF (Ret.) of Chester, VA, passed away on January 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Jaime Collazo and Elizabeth Ordaz Martinez; sister, Mary Lou Ayala Solis; and brother, Michael J. Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecile Collazo; daughters, Megan A. Leonard (Daniel); Brenda Teter; and Nancy Piranian; stepchildren, Richard Pinder (Cindy); Tammy Morang; Debra Smalstig (David); Donna Lovelace (Roger); and Linda Bianco; grandchildren, Ron Rodriguez, Jeffery Piranian, Everett Ledet, Ryan Pinder, Rebecca Holowatj, Kory Hart, Kerry Bolant, Chad Pinder, Melisa Webb, Miranda Lane, Macee Lovelace, Jacob Lovelace, Mark Bianco, Lillian Leonard, and Bella Leonard; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dr. Veronica Ordaz Collazo, Darlene Marie Wolfe (Alan), and Lavina Delgadillo; brothers, Carl James Collazo and Richard Alexander Martinez (Yolanda); aunt Katherine P. King; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and former wife Rose Marie Collazo. CMS Collazo was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country faithfully for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force. He then went to work for the Department of Defense retiring after 33 years. He was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284 and volunteered at a senior center where he drove the transportation van. CMS Collazo also belonged to the Dinwiddie Pilots Association. He was interred in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA, on February 2, 2017. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Beacon Hill Baptist Church, 612 Fredericksburg Rd., San Antonio, TX 78201, (210) 400-5975.
