Anthony T. Simone
GENEVA– Anthony T. Simeone, 86, of Geneva, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Rochester General Hospital on Wednesday (February 15, 2017). Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday (February 19, 2017) at the McGuigan & Bero Funeral Home, 45 High St. Geneva. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday (February 20, 2017) with prayers at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Parish in his name. Anthony was born on January 7, 1931 in Geneva, the son of the late Pasquale and Alice (Esposito) Simeone. He graduated from DeSales High School, class of 1949. Tony served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Corpal in the 3rd Armor Division, 84th Tank Battalion, Company B. On November 22, 1956, he married Mary Elizabeth Jorgensen. In addition to working in many family businesses over the years, Tony enjoyed a 30 year career at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls, retiring in 1992. After retirement, he worked part-time at many area funeral homes. He knew everyone and loved being a friendly face for people to chat with when they were most distraught. He was a member of the American Legion Winnek Post 396, Finger Lakes Moose Lodge 823, Steel Workers Union and Our Lady of Peace Parish. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and visiting with his host of nieces and nephews. Tony will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He is survived by his "lady friend," Shirley Radka; daughters Marty A. Breiner, Arden Simeone-Culver (James) and Michele C. Simeone. He leaves beloved grandchildren Jaime N. Culver (Darin Rozelle) and Antonio M. Simeone; his sister, Caroline Quillen; sisters-in-law Carmie Simeone and Lina Simeone; many special nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Mary E.
