Anthony Tony Jakubcsik
Anthony "Tony" Jakubcsik, 63, formerly a resident of Schmidt Towers, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born February 28, 1953, a son of the late Anthony and Anna Sivak Jakubcski. Tony was a parishioner of St. Peter Cathedral and frequently attended daily and weekly mass. He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Cass of 1972. He lived the majority of his life in Erie but also worked as a chef in Palm Springs, Calif. Tony enjoyed spending time with his friends. "Faithful friends are a sturdy shelter: whoever finds one has found a treasure. Faithful friends are beyond price; no amount can balance their worth. Faithful friends are life-saving medicine; and those who fear the Lord will find them." He is survived by his brother, Stephen Jakubcsik; three sisters, Ann M. DiVecchio (Ronald), Elsa Leone, and Mary Presogna, all of Erie; a nephew; and several nieces. Friends will be received on Saturday at Saint Peter Cathedral, 230 West 10th Street, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass there at 10 a.m. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery.
