Anthony DeBellis KINGSTON- Anthony DeBellis, 59, of Pine Street, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in N.Y.C. He was born Nov. 24, 1956 in Copiague, Long Island, son of the late Joseph and Antoinette Buffa DeBellis. He had been a career Army veteran who had honorably served his country for over 20 years. He earned: Meritorius Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the S.W. Asia Medal with 3 bronze stars and the Purple Heart. He was a self employed truck driver, and was affectionately known as “The Pro” and “Madman Trucking”. He was an excellent mechanic who enjoyed hunting, billiards, and crus’in on his Harley motorcycle. He was an avid baseball fan, and grandfather who just loved the kids. Surviving are his wife Gail Becker DeBellis of Kingston; sons: Craig Benjamin, Joseph and John DeBellis; daughter, Michelle DeBellis; and siblings: Charles of W. Shokan, Robert of Georgia, Bartholomew of Virginia, Vincent of Mt. Marion, Lucy VanLeuvan Trolian of Boiceville, Paul DeBellis of Saugerties and Natalie Fetty of Cairo. Mother of his children, Mary DeBellis of Texas, and several grandchildren,nieces, nephews and his four-legged ‘Brat,’ also survive. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Anthony will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main St., Phoenicia. Burial in the family plot at the Hudler Cemetery Rt. 28 Mt. Tremper. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home.
