Sister Annelle Babinski, 85, of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Third Order Regular of St. Francis, died at 5:00 a.m. of natural causes on Monday, October 17, 2016, at St. Joseph Villa, Reading, Pa., where she had resided since 1996. Born in Dickson City, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John Leo and Susan (Stoyack) Babinski. Sister Annelle entered the Bernardine Order on August 11, 1949, and was in her 68th year of religious life. Sister earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.; a Master of Science in Library Science, Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.; and a Master of Arts degree in Computer Education and Training. She served her ministry in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico as a teacher, principal, librarian, superior, director and local minister. Sister is survived by her brother, Paul Babinski, Dunmore, Pa.; and her sister, Joan Jojola, Las Cruces, N.M. Viewings will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Villa, Reading, Pa., and on Thursday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel, Mt. Alvernia, Reading, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel, Mt. Alvernia, Reading, Pa. Burial will follow in the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters' Cemetery, Mt. Alvernia. The Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., Reading, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
