May 7, 1931 - Feb. 10, 2017 EDMOND Cecil Anne Plyler was born May 7, 1931, to Cecil and Dorothy (Gaddis) Oliver in Pioneer, LA. She graduated Bossier High School in Bossier City, LA and went on to graduate with a B.S. in laboratory technology from Louisiana Tech University. Anne married Earle Plyler on July 31, 1959. She worked at the VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA and taught preschool in Dallas, TX before moving to Oklahoma in 1972. She retired as a Senior Analytical Chemist from Kerr-McGee in 1994. Always active in the community, Anne was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond and a member of the Evening Circle. She served on the Oklahoma City Literacy Board and served as Docent Council Chairperson at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was also a member of the Cambridge Club, PEO Chapter D, and was an Honorary Life member of the Presbyterian Women. She loved playing Bridge and participated in many local Bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle Plyler; her parents; and her brother, James Thomas Oliver. Anne is survived by her daughters, Laura Silkwood and Leigh Mikkelson; son-in-law, Blake Silkwood; brother, Gaddis Oliver & his wife Laurrel; grandchildren, Colin and Derek Silkwood, and Robert and Jane Mikkelson; as well as the many friends and family members she loved. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "His House Outreach Ministries."
