In memory of
Anne Roskos Monroe
Anne Roskos Monroe was born May 29th 1924 in Chekosylvkia, she was the eldest of five children. On January 7, 2017 she was reunited in heaven with her loving husband of 68 years Walter Monroe. Anne is survived, by her only child (who she adored) Scott Monroe, his wife Anna, and her siblings Ruby, Fannie, Leda & Johnny, and their children and grandchildren. She was in constant contact with her family who are far from Bakersfield, but close to her heart, as well as surrounded by many friends and neighbors who visited her daily. It was rare to find a day she wasn't busy shopping or socializing with her extended family. She was always saying "I know I am so blessed". She was an inspiration to so many, and a living testament to how staying active keeps you vibrant. Until the day she passed she was reading, handwriting letters to friends, family and politicians (she wanted her voice heard), even needlepointing cards and gifts for friends. She was truly blessed, but so were those who were fortunate enough to have known her. A funeral service will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 10:45, where she will rest aside her beloved husband Walter. There will also be a gathering after the service at her home for all who knew and loved her. A video of Anne can be found on Google under: Anne Monroe, Bakersfield
