Anne Kerner Dunn New Providence resident, greatest source of joy was her family Anne Kerner Dunn, 93, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit, N.J. 07901. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, South St., New Providence, N.J., on Friday, April 21, at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Teresa Cemetery, Passaic Ave., Summit. Anne was most recently a resident of Winchester Gardens in Maplewood, N.J., after living in New Providence, N.J., for over 60 years where she was active in Our Lady of Peace Parish, The Fortnightly Club, the Town Club, various book clubs and also playing bridge whenever she could. Anne was born and raised in Newark, N.J., and received her nursing degree from Seton Hall University. In 1945 to 1946, she served as a second lieutenant in the United States Army as a nurse in the 23rd Hospital Ship Complement returning wounded soldiers to the Unites States from both theaters of action. Her subsequent nursing career including employment as a visiting nurse, assistant in medical offices, as a school nurse, and many hours volunteering at blood banks with the American Red Cross. Her greatest source of joy was her family and she leaves her husband of 65 years, Joseph; her four children, John and his wife, Patricia, of Beverly, Mass., Bill and his wife, Buffy Bondy, of Gainesville, Fla., David and his companion, Linda Klemis, of Haverhill, Mass. and Trish Deluca and her husband, Marco, of Maplewood, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and four great- grandsons.
