In memory of
Anne Bailey CROSS ANCHOR, SC-- Shirley Anne Johnson Bailey, walked through the golden gates April 17, 2017. Anne was the widow of Harold V. Bailey, Sr. and the daughter of the late Clara and Wales Johnson. She was born December 17, 1934 in Cross Anchor at the Cooper Homeplace on Grace Chapel Road. She is survived by her sister, Kitty Wingo of Cross Anchor; her children, Hope Farmer (Curtis) of Mooresboro, NC, Judy Roper of Boiling Springs, and Vincent Bailey (Laura) of Campobello; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. As much as she loved her children and grandchildren, her great-grandchildren had her heart. She was retired from the library at The University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. Anne treasured her friendship with her boss, Bob Perrin. They had long talks and visits until her last days. Anne was a gifted pianist and kept her children singing in perfect harmony as long as her body would allow-even though this required a pinch every once and a while. To the staff at Summit Hills, the family wishes to thank you for the compassion shown to our Mama, Grandmama, sister, and Nanann over the last few years of life. Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Thursday at Cross Anchor United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Perrin and Rev. Stanley Stribling officiating. The family will received friends from 1:30 to 2:45 prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of a daughter, Judy Roper 818 Pioneer Drive Boiling Springs. Condolences may be made at www.striblingfuneralhome.net Stribling Funeral Home Duncan, SC
