Anna P. "Betty" Bouton
Anna P. "Betty" Bouton, 94, of Bloomsbury, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Clover Rest Home in Columbia, NJ. Betty was born at home in Phillipsburg, NJ on June 17, 1922 to the late Elwood Andrew and Ethel H. Savercool Phillips. Betty was employed with Warren Foundry as a secretary, until the end of WWII. She lived in Hope, NJ on a farm with her husband and two children. Betty sold her chicken's eggs and grew vegetables. She enjoyed baking pies and cookies, as well as canning tomatoes and peaches. Betty enjoyed playing board games with her children, pinochle, solitaire, growing flowers and playing croquet. Betty helped in the PTA for Freeman Grade School in Phillipsburg and was a Cub Pack Den Mother and Deacon at Westminister Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church. Betty is survived by a son, Robert W. Bouton and his wife Diane of Phillipsburg, NJ; a daughter, Deborah B. Bartholomew of Pohatcong Twsp.; grandchildren, Tricia B. Bartholomew and Gregory R. Bouton; a great-granddaughter, Brook E. Hoffman; a brother, David E. Phillips; and a sister Lois M. Alpaugh. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Robert H. Bouton, who passed in 2003; a sister, Joyce Pfefferle Brunstetter; and a brother, Robert Phillips. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
