Ann Cate
Ann Cate Seymour, TN Ann Brown Cate, age 68, of Seymour, born October 5, 1948, passed away very unexpectedly on October 16, 2016. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jim; daughter, Beverly; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Laura; two grandchildren who meant the world to her, Dagon and Emaleigh; sister, Karen Jinks; nephew Richard Jinks; nephew and wife, Philip and Amy Jinks; niece and husband Eleanor and Ryan McMurray; brother-in-law and wife, Ronnie and Christine Cate; nephew, Adam Cate; sister-in-law, Teresa Cate; nephew and wife, Randy and Amy Cate; nephew, Morgan Cate; "second" son, Derek Treffner; and a host of great-nieces and nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest "Bill" and Reba Brown and sister and brother-in-law, Betsy Brown and Steve Johnson; infant brother, Kenneth Lee; in-laws, Ralph and Maude Cate; brother-in-law, Tommy Cate; and sister-in-law, Charlene Cate. Ann and Jim had THE perfect marriage. They were married for over 46 years and their love was the sort of love most people only dream of having. They took care of each other, helped each other, and loved each other through sickness and in health, and stood together through every adversity and every wondrous event that happened in their lives. Ann and Jim and family are members of the Oak City Baptist Church in Seymour, TN, where they were baptized as a family by Pastor Chris Kendall, who has been a source of strength for the family during this difficult time. Generous, loving, and caring are only a few words to describe the person who was Ann Cate. She helped the less fortunate, she loved her family, and she loved and cared for all children. Go rest high on that mountain, precious lady. We know there was a joyous reunion with your loved ones in Heaven. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department, Sevier County Ambulance Service and LeConte Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of her life at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19. Graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20. Please plan to arrive at the cemetery by 10:45.
