Anita M. Rusch
Rusch, Anita M. Anita M. Rusch, age 90, a resident at Laurel Grove Assisted Living in Manitowoc, entered eternal life with family by her side on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Laurel Grove. Anita was born on October 29, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Adolph and Hilda (Hoefner) Buck. Anita became God's dear child through Holy Baptism on November 22, 1925 by Rev. Karl Machmiller. Anita attended First German Ev. Lutheran School for eight years. She renewed her baptismal vow when she was confirmed by Rev. L.H. Koeninger at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on April 2, 1939. She continued her education at Lincoln High School graduating June 9, 1943. She began her employment at Henderson Hoyt Department Store in Manitowoc. Later the department store was sold to the Boston Store, then Johnson Hills and The Mart. Anita was employed there for 34 years until the store closed. She then became employed for 13 years at Pine River Dairy and most recently at Natural Market from where she retired. On August 30, 1947 she married Omar Rusch at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1994 after 47 years of marriage. Anita was a lifelong and faithful member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church. She is survived by one sister: Irene Rusch, Manitowoc; sister-in-law: Donna Buck, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Hilda Buck; her husband: Omar Rusch; one brother: Leonard Buck; two brothers-in-law: Elton Rusch; Norbert (Viola) Rusch; and one sister-in-law: Cora (Henry) Streckert. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Benjamin Schaefer and Rev. Christopher Hoppe. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and then at First German Ev. Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to First German Ev.
