Frost, Andrew Paul Formerly of Chelsea, MI Age 32, died unexpectedly in his home in Loveland, CO on May 28. Andy lived a life full of music, travel, hard work, and giving all of himself to those he cared for. An accomplished drummer, Andy demonstrated his passion for music with several rock groups, ranging from the Ann Arbor rock scene to touring Europe with The Hydromatics. He played with legends Scott Morgan, Ron Asheton, Deniz Tek, Robert Gillespie, Hiawatha Bailey, and Mitch Ryder, to name a few. Andy enamored his fans with rich, musical influences and a hard, aggressive style which brought clubs and festivals alike, to their feet. Andy was also a man you wanted to run into downtown, at Seitz's, or Cleary's for hearty conversation, and more importantly, a laugh. His engaging and jovial character simply attracted people and he is missed by his many friends. Constantly moving, Andy's occupations included everything from expertly cooking food in downtown Chelsea, to selling shoes with his father in Ann Arbor, to handling heavy machinery while working in the field of environmental cleanup in our Great Lakes and across the country. Andy was a living reminder of old school rock and roll, a throwback to a simpler time when people just went and hung out downtown. His only media was music and his pastime was his friends. He could play it all and made you like it just by watching him pour his soul into his drums. He was an inspiration to his peers, fans, and to the seasoned rock vets he played with. Andy had a place in his heart for animals. He cherished his time with them and always made them an important part of his life. He furiously defended animals and had a gentleness with them that was magnetic. Above all, Andy was an extremely wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend who made those around him smile. He was cherished in life and will be truly missed by those he left behind. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Sharon (Simmons) Frost of Petoskey, his brothers Lt. Robert Frost of Lawton, OK, and Joseph Frost of Traverse City. Sister-in-law Melissa, nephew Robert Jr., and nieces Elizabeth and Abigail Frost of Lawton, OK, his maternal grandmother Maxine, several loving aunts, uncles and cousins, with his uncle Mike Thayer being a musical mentor. There will be a celebration of Andy's life held on Saturday, June 12 at 4 p.m. at Chelsea Lanes. For those desiring, a contribution in his name can be made to the Humane Society or www. musicmentors.com and would be greatly appreciated.
