Amy Denise Martin, of Alameda, CA, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, in the company of family and friends after almost two years battling cancer. Amy was Chief Legal Counsel of Cal/OSHA and was responsible for protecting the health and safety of employees throughout California. Amy was born and educated in Fresno, CA, graduated from the University of San Francisco, and received her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law. Prior to joining OSHA, Amy was a partner in the law firm of Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld, and an adjunct professor at Hastings School of Law. Amy served as an officer of the Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge #1015 of Alameda, CA. She is survived by her mother, Vivian Jean Martin of Fresno; sister, Lisa Martin of Fresno; her brother, Robert Martin and wife Judy of Sacramento, CA; nephew, Robert Martin, III of San Jose, CA; her dog Scout; and a wide circle of other family members, friends and colleagues. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Alameda Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue, on Saturday February 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hinds Hospice; or Alameda Elks Lodge.
