LEVY, Amnon First Violinist in The Boston Symphony Orchestra Amnon Levy of Brookline, on Monday, April 17, 2017. For 50 years, beloved husband of Brenda "Bonnie" (Grad) Levy. Loving father of Sam Levy and his wife Karen Cinorre of NYC. Amnon attended The Juilliard School and graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music. Prior to joining the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1964 as a first violinist, he performed with Rudolph Serkin at the Marlboro Music Festival and was a first violinist with the Minnesota Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. For many years, he was a soloist with the Boston Pops as well as the Boston Lawyers Orchestra. He coached many young musicians, individually, at the Tanglewood Music Center, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Funeral services at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, on Friday, April 21 at 11:00am. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Following burial, memorial observance will be at his late residence and continuing on Saturday evening the family will receive visitors from 5-9:00pm.
