Ambrose Culver "Ambie" Miller Jr.
MILLER JR., AMBROSE CULVER "AMBIE" of Jupiter, FL and formerly of South Kingstown, RI, passed peacefully on February 2, 2017 after a brief illness and surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 11, 1943 in Abington, PA to Ambrose Culver Miller and Gertrude Kimber Clark Miller. He graduated from Rogers High School in Newport and University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in Accounting. After R.O.T.C., he served as Finance Officer for the U.S. Army, Military Intelligence, stationed in Seoul, South Korea. He was a C.P.A. for Deloitte, formerly Haskins & Sells, C.F.O. for Subaru of New England and Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions for Textron, Inc. where he negotiated the purchase of Cessna Aircraft from General Dynamics. He served on the Board of Directors for numerous companies and, after retiring, volunteered his tax and business expertise for S.C.O.R.E. in Boston and the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Sally (Young) of Jupiter, son Scott of North Providence, RI, sisters Marianne Jordan of Texas and Kim Evans of CA, brother Edward of CT and was predeceased by his sister Susanna.
