Alvin (Al) Waltman October 13, 2016 Alvin (Al) Waltman, 76, of N. Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully at Cape Coral Hospital, on October 13, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones. Al was born November 4, 1939, to Bertha and Herman Waltman in Barton, New York. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Eudora Waltman; brothers Jim Waltman, Guy Waltman, Ray Waltman, and sister Pat Collins. Al is survived by his sister Helen Johnson, his children Pam Johnston(Andy), Sue Armour(Kevin), Darla Belland(Bobby Devlin), Alan Waltman(Elaine Santiago) and his dear companion Jeannette (Jean) Grudin. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Al graduated from Sayre High School in 1958, and married Eudora on June 13, 1959, in Towanda, Pennsylvania. While in Pennsylvania, Al worked as a machinist, a realtor, and during the 1970's he and Eudora were the owners/proprietors of The Valley Inn in Sayre. Al moved with his family to Fort Myers, Florida, in 1979. There he worked at and retired from HF Scientific. Al returned to Sayre each summer enjoying family, friends, and the beauty of Pennsylvania. Al lived life fully and was the force behind many family and social gatherings. He had a tremendous love for music, was a member of many veteran and charitable clubs, and was very passionate and competitive with table shuffleboard. First and foremost, Al was a devoted husband and father. He solely cared for his wife Eudora throughout her lengthy battle with MS. He was a gentle man who showed kindness to all. A memorial in celebration of Al's life will be held on October 29, 2016, from 11:00am to 3:00 pm, at the Moose Lodge located on Santa Barbara Blvd. in Cape Coral Florida. Al's family also intends to have a memorial gathering in his honor in Sayre, Pennsylvania, during the summer of 2017.
